95-97 % of the seam defects may be seen on the root side of the seam, therefore, they may be filtered out with the aid of VT.
This is a "revolutionary" innovation in the area of traditional (PN16) industrial technological pipe fitting, because it is well known that it replaces the expensive and more time demanding radiographic technology (RT) and it operates significantly cheaper and faster. In the field of industrial technological pipe fitting that we implement on large scale the customer usually requests 2-3 % RT tests, and not more. This means that it purchases a 2-3 % safety.
Instead of this, with the endoscopic seam inspection the customer may get 95-97 % safety, for a surplus cost that can be hardly recognizable on project level.
No more has to be done, only a sufficient number of endoscopes and their users have to be included in the system and each previous welding seam has to be examined, this way each seam may be examined and documented in "chronological" sequence.
